Ancient Civilizations, or Ancient World Cultures, are popular themes for most states in 6th Grade. There are many components in each unit that lend themselves to collaborative learning. Study Guides can be used for partner work, and lesson closing activities- like think, pair, share- are great for group and whole class tasks! Two of my favorite options for group or partner work include the ‘Comparing World Religions’ resource, as well and the ‘End-of-Year Projects’ resource.
While this curriculum is best used in a 6th Grade Social Studies classroom, it can work with learners in neighboring grades as well. It provides you with a full-year of social studies material, requiring little-to-no prep on your end. Check it out!
